Environmental technology exports to China increases

The last three years, Swedish environmental technology exports increased more than for other industries. During the 2009 recession, environmental technology exports only fell by 8 percent, while other industries dropped 16 percent. Environmental technology export to China is the fastest growing.
Between 2008 and 2009, the export of environmental technology to China increased by 52 percent. This means that China has moved from ninth to second place in terms of eco-technology goods exports. China is the only country, of Sweden’s 15 largest beneficiaries, where the total merchandise exports increased in 2009.
- A conclusion is that the sustainable society is more stable than the rest of society. To invest in green growth and shift towards an eco-efficient economy pays off for Sweden, says Berit Gullbransson, Director of Swentec.
